The vocational meeting at KIESER, PYMBLE, was an insight into the world of strength training. Staff there gave an informative and interesting presentation on Strength for Wellbeing and blew up a few health/exercise myths. We saw the machines first-hand, and a few were demonstrated.
Any Wahroonga Rotary member is eligible to take advantage of the financial offers Kieser made to us. They were: half price on an initial assessment, 4 weeks complementary core membership, and ongoing 25% discount on memberships/sessions with a member of the Physiotherapy team. If interested, make direct contact with Kieser and introduce yourself as a Wahroonga Rotary member. (a related podcast in "Rotary matters" below)

A great night on Thursday at the BOBBO presentation evening. 50% of money raised went to Lifeline. The remainder was distributed between the charities nominated by the five Rotary Clubs who organise the cycle event. Wahroonga Rotary had nominated Hornsby Connect and Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Women’s Shelter. Stuart Armstrong accepted on behalf of Hornsby Connect, and Emily Tweddell on behalf of the women’s shelter. Representatives from all the nominated charities spoke, giving insights into the work they do and how the funds will be put to use. A great event and a great outcome. Well done to the Bobbo organisers, volunteers and riders. Onward to 2025!
This coming week our meeting will be a little unusual, in that Anne Prescott has conjured up an entertaining morning for us. Come along and enjoy the fun and laughs.
The annual Ku-ring-gai Chase Fun Run is to be held on the 16th June - at the Claude Cameron Oval East Wahroonga. In past years we have conducted the BBQ for the competitors and visitors. The students from Knox Grammar School also take part to act as mentors for the disabled competitors.
Well it's that time of the year again - the sunset on President Mentie's leadership and the dawning of that for Sallianne. We thank Mentie and her team for the positive contribution to our Community throughout the year.
This event is an opportunity to reflect on our achievements and acknowledge members' contribution.
Please join your colleagues at our Annual Changeover Dinner at Magpies Waitara on the 26th June to share in the celebration.
You can book for this event at: Humanitix - Bookings close on the 12th June
RYLA has been our Priority Model for the Wahroonga Rotary Youth Committee.
We selected RYLA as our main District project and we have sent 46 young people to RYLA in the past 15 years. We believe it achieves more ’bang for our bucks’ than any other Rotary Youth project. In one year (2020), we aimed to send most of the management team from our local Rotaract Club to RYLA and we sent 8 people plus selecting a further 3 who were given to other Rotary Clubs as their nominees.

Our Club Runner platform is in the process of a 'makeover" - a new version - "Nova" will be fully launched in 2025. This version will greatly enhance the system as a Club management tool with a lot of useful features; and will embrace other local Club information useful in the future for Zone 8 activity.
Much of this is explained in the recent webinar accessible via this link: NOVA
In particular I would like to draw your attention to the CR App which you can have on your mobile device and use to check on club stories and events and communicate with your fellow members by calling or text. I encourage you to download the APP as it will become more of an option for Club communications into the future.
You can download this Application and use your CR login to gain access to the material: - Club Runner APP - go to the APP store to download.
