This last week, 15 May, we were joined by Indu Balachandran. Indu has been a strong advocate for women’s voices in human services, international development and in domestic and family violence. The latter has been a particular focus in the South Asian community in Australia.

The Board met last Tuesday. Decisions/actions:

* An Annual Report will be produced this year, but not in the format used previously.

* WVF – the new stall booking system is now live and stall applications are coming in.

* Communication. The branding document prepared by Janelle was adopted. A social media policy will be considered by the incoming Board.

* PhD research scholarship. Closing date is 31 May. ARH will be asked about sending reminders if this has not been done.

* We have had a request to support youth exchange programs in the form of a financial contribution. Further details required.

* Budgets are coming in to the Treasurer.

* Membership dues have been increased by RI/District.

* Breakfast fees will rise from 1 July.

* International – the quiz night is held over until about September. There is a lengthy report on the Senegal project.

This coming week, Wednesday 22 May, we will be having a vocational meeting at KIESER, PYMBLE, in place of the normal meeting. Same time as usual – 7.15am for 7.30am to 8.30am. We will enjoy breakfast there at our normal cost of $25. There will be a presentation on Strength for Wellbeing. We will also have a ‘tour’ of the machines. Street parking is available around the shops on the other side of the railway line. It is an easy walk via the railway bridge to the facility.

A gesture from Kieser to us, as Rotarians, will be to offer half price on an initial assessment, 4 weeks complementary core membership, and ongoing 25% discount on memberships/sessions with a member of the Physiotherapy team.

Don’t forget to register for the Changeover Dinner on Wednesday evening, 26 June. (booking link below)
