President Mentie shares her travel experiences so far!
I heard that at last week’s meeting members were treated to each other’s travel stories, including Phillip’s ‘coronation’ jaunt.
Ironic that I heard this while travelling!
Nottingham, where the Australia v England women’s cricket Ashes tour has begun, is treating us to glorious sunny weather. There have been a few light rain showers, but not enough to stop getting sunburned yesterday.
We have enjoyed great pub food, and everyone very friendly and hospitable.
Another 3 days left of the test match, with Australia not in the best position at the moment. Things can change fast in cricket though, so time will tell.
This week's meeting speaker is PP Ken Broadhead OAM who will give his District Vocational Service presentation.
Last Thursday evening several of our Wahroonga Rotary members attended the Bobbo presentation event at Magpies Waitara. There was a large gathering that included representatives from each of the beneficiaries, sponsors, Ku-ring-gai Mayor Jeff Pettitt and the Member for Davidson Matt Cross.
Our two beneficiaries in attendance were the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Women's Shelter represented by Catherine Knox, and Hornsby Connect represented by Jo Grant.
