We all, like the Sleeping Princess, seem to have been asleep for the best part of a 100 years (or so COVID-19 has felt like) and suddenly the handsome Prince, in the shape of our Prime Minister Boris Johnson, comes along with a political kiss to waken us all up with news that the lockdown is now gradually to be lifted. At last, freedom is in sight!

Contd:
He set the tone on April 19 when shops were allowed to reopen , including hairdressers, and he appeared on TV later that day, minus his long wavy golden locks and looking like a sheep just shorn of its long shaggy woollen winter coat.
The really exciting news is that on May 17th, restaurants will be able to serve diners inside and not just outside: We have had a very cold April which has not exactly been conducive to dining outside !
Anyway, what have we been up to since our last report to you? We continue to meet on Zoom every Wednesday morning and in addition we have Zoom coffee mornings a couple of times a month. We are presently considering how we are going to meet , once lockdown has been lifted completely. The feeling seems to be that during the colder winter months we will probably continue to meet on Zoom part of the time, but at other times we would like to get back to meeting in person over a real breakfast- more about that later in the year.
We continue to support The One Can Trust , which collects and delivers food etc to needy families. Our support includes financial help and supply of volunteer drivers to deliver the food o the families.
We have continued our support for the Thames Valley Air Ambulance who do a wonderful job .We recently had a very interesting Zoom talk by a former Royal Air Force pilot who holds the current world speed land record, and which raised £1,000. We continue to pick up litter in our locality and never cease to be amazed at the amount of rubbish, (including face masks which feature predominantly ) in our black bags.
