Rotary International’s vision is that:

Together, we see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change
— across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.

“Expand our Reach” is one of the four priorities that will guide the next five years of Rotary activity to achieve this vision. This priority has four objectives, which are to:
  • Grow and diversify our membership and participation;
  • Create new channels into Rotary;
  • Increase Rotary’s openness and appeal; and
  • Build awareness of our impact and brand.

The Rotary Club of Wahroonga (RCW) intends to expand our reach by building a robust media and social media strategy, an up-to-date website, and an engaging online presence in its local community.

This will involve the Rotary Club of Wahroonga telling stories about its community impact by leveraging various communication channels. These will include media relations, on-line, social and digital media, local advocacy, community engagement events, thought leadership, speaking engagements, as well as marketing and advertising channels.

Our Approach

We plan to use the Rotary Club of Wahroonga website as the vehicle for club stories, activities and events. This is the best platform for this as the ClubRunner system is designed around this concept. It has the space, structure and format to combine pictures and text to deliver the messages.

We will use our other forms to communication to increase visits to the Rotary Club of Wahroonga website, increasing the traffic to the website expands the reach of our stories and messages.

Members will be encouraged to create stories and events that promote the activities of Rotary Club of Wahroonga, expanding our reach and increasing members involvement in the plan.

A Digital Content Manager

A new role within the club has been created, a Digital Content Manager, to coordinate this activity. The Digital Content Manager will lead the Rotary Club of Wahroonga’s content strategy, expertly developing and delivering stories across our channels, including our website, blogs, and social, media.

As a master copywriter and multimedia storyteller, the Digital Content Manager will collaborate closely with our club Service Chairs and their committees to communicate the Rotary Club of Wahroonga experience through inspiring and engaging storytelling.
