Event News

Wahroonga Rotary Club is celebrating 2021. In a year where so much has happened to negatively affect us all, it is easy to overlook significant dates and the resilience of others in our community.

We come together to honour all the losses of the pandemic period and also the resilience of our community and to commit to building a close-knit community with strong ties that will hold us together through the challenge of rebuilding and beyond.

A Healing Ceremony and Dedication of a Time Capsule with Churches and Faith groups was held from 8.00am – 9.00am on Saturday 4 December (Local Government Election Day) at the Rotunda in Wahroonga Park. BYO Chair.

In addition a formal ceremony including the unveiling of the plaque above the buried Time Capsule will be held during a TWILIGHT PICNIC IN THE PARK on Saturday 26TH February from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
It will be live broadcast from the venue on community radio Triple H. We will invite all the shops and businesses in the Village to participate if they wish or just to come along and enjoy the fun.

Please put the dates in your diary for a moving and historic events.

-------------------------------------------

Also, we are planning to celebrate two other events that occurred in 1921

> 100 years since Wahroonga Park was established, and

> 100 years since the first Rotary club started in Australia?

These are two events that the Rotary Club of Wahroonga would like to acknowledge and celebrate, together with members of the local community. The Club is yet to finalise a date with Ku-ring-gai Council but the main event in the Park is expected to be held in February 2022, and will include the burial of the Time Capsule.

In addition we welcome your stories about the early days of the Park's development and more recently - how you use and enjoy the Park as a key community facility.

So go to "Your Submission " (above) and complete the survey document adding pictures or files you think would be useful.
