‘From Ashes to Pandemic and beyond…’

Rev Bent has been a Minister of the Word in the Uniting Church for 25 years and was ordained in the United Methodist Church, USA in 1992.
Rev Bent is an Australian - Indian who was born in the US and was raised in India as her mother found it difficult to adjust in the US (late 60s-70s). She grew up on a theological seminary campus where her father lectured in the Hebrew Scriptures/Old Testament and her mother was a social worker. She has served as a School Chaplain for 17 years now, previously at MLC School in Burwood, and currently at Pymble Ladies’ College. Previous to her Chaplaincy years she was engaged in congregational work and ministry. At school her areas of interest were Service Learning, Interfaith dialogue, Climate Justice and partnering with agencies working with communities on the fringes, where students can directly engage and practice friendship and true partnerships.
