In 1967, Australia became one of the earliest nations to launch its own satellite, when WRESAT (Weapons Research Establishment Satellite) soared into orbit from the Woomera Rocket Range, on a rocket generously donated by the United States. This talk will present the fascinating story of how WRESAT came about-and what it meant to Australia at the time.
